Why Choose Just Wood Furniture? A Reputation You Can Check for Yourself
Choosing a company to design and make fitted furniture for your home involves a fair amount of trust. Of course, every company can tell you that it offers great service, quality workmanship and a personal approach. But these days, you don't have to simply take their word for it. You can read what previous customers say. You can look at completed projects. You can see how a company performs in Google search. Bespoke Fitted Furniture Throughout a New-Build Passivhaus in Exeter
Every so often, a project comes along that gives us the opportunity to work across an entire home rather than focusing on just one room. This recent new-build project in the heart of Exeter was exactly that. We were commissioned to design, manufacture and install fitted furniture for the master bedroom, two family bedrooms, a guest bedroom and the cloakroom, with each space designed around the way the family wanted to use it. Tom worked closely with the clients on the designs

How High Should Shelves Be? A Practical Guide to Bespoke Storage
When people start planning fitted furniture, they often think first about the look. The doors, the finish, the handles, the colour, the lighting. Of course, all of those details matter. But one of the most important parts of a good design is something much more practical: What height should the shelves be? It sounds like a small detail, but shelf height can make the difference between storage that looks lovely on day one and storage that works properly for years. At Just Wood

Installing a Murphy Bed in Exmouth: A Clever Way to Add a Guest Room
What is a Murphy Bed? A Murphy bed named after its inventor William Lawrence Murphy (1866–1923) is a bed that folds vertically into a cabinet or wall unit when not in use. When closed, it looks like part of the fitted furniture. When opened, it transforms the room into a comfortable sleeping space. It’s a simple idea, but when it’s designed and built properly, it can completely change how a room works, especially in homes where space needs to work harder. The Brief: A Room Th

Bespoke Alcove Wardrobes Designed for a Challenging Space
This lovely old cottage in Sidmouth had wardrobes built against an old, north-facing granite wall.
