Why Choose Just Wood Furniture? A Reputation You Can Check for Yourself
Updated: Oct 5

Choosing a company to design and make fitted furniture for your home involves a fair amount of trust.
Of course, every company can tell you that it offers great service, quality workmanship and a personal approach. But these days, you don't have to simply take their word for it.
You can read what previous customers say. You can look at completed projects. You can see how a company performs in Google search. You can browse its social media and, increasingly, see what AI search tools find when asked for recommendations.
We think that's a good thing.
At Just Wood Furniture, our reputation hasn't been built through one advertising campaign or a carefully worded sales message. It has grown over time through the furniture we've made, the customers we've worked with and the evidence of that work that now exists online.
More Than 50 Five-Star Google Reviews

One of the clearest places to start is with our customers.
Just Wood Furniture has more than 50 Google reviews, with a 5.0-star rating.
When you read through them, the same themes appear repeatedly: customers talk about being listened to, good communication, patience during the design process, reliability, tidy installation and the quality of the finished furniture.
One customer, Adrian in Sidmouth, came to us after initially approaching some well-known national fitted furniture brands. His experience perhaps sums up what we're trying to achieve:
“Chris was as good as his word. Over a period of weeks we had numerous conversations and several face-to-face meetings where we were able to make changes to the design and discuss alternative options if required. Chris and his team were always willing to take the time to listen to our input and make suggestions regarding colours, finishes, materials and overall design elements.”
Adrian went on to say that what stood out was our determination to get the finished result right, rather than rushing the design process.
Those reviews matter because they aren't written by us. They are the experiences of people who have trusted us to work in their homes.

What Does Ranking Highly on Google Actually Mean?

Reviews are only one part of our online reputation.
Just Wood Furniture also appears prominently in organic Google searches for many of the products and services we specialise in. At the time of writing, for example, we're appearing at the top of the organic results for searches such as “bespoke fitted furniture Exeter”.
The word organic is important.
Organic results are different from the sponsored adverts you sometimes see at the top of Google. Businesses can pay to appear in those advertising positions, but Google states that buying advertising does not improve a company's position in its organic search results.

Instead, Google's search systems look at a range of signals to decide which pages are likely to be the most useful and relevant answer to a particular search. These include the relevance and quality of the information provided, the usefulness of the page, the authority and expertise associated with it, and factors such as the searcher's location.
So a strong organic position isn’t something a company can simply buy from Google. It is usually built over time through a combination of relevant content, a strong website, customer reviews, local relevance and ongoing optimisation.
It's something that tends to build over time as Google develops a clearer picture of what a business does, where it works and whether its website genuinely answers what people are searching for.
For a small independent Devon company like ours, seeing Just Wood Furniture competing successfully with much larger national businesses in those results is something we're particularly proud of.
See the Furniture for Yourself

Search rankings and reviews are useful, but ultimately the best evidence is the furniture itself.
That's why we share so much of our work online.
Our Instagram pages contain photographs and walk-around videos from real customer projects across Devon. You'll see fitted wardrobes, walk-in dressing rooms, media walls, bookcases and other bespoke furniture, often with Chris talking through the finished project.
These aren't computer-generated interiors or AI-created concept images. They're real rooms, in real customers' homes, showing furniture our own team has designed, made and installed.
You can also browse the customer projects on our website, where we show individual installations in more detail, including some of the design challenges involved and how we solved them.
And What About AI Search?

The way people research companies is changing too.
Increasingly, homeowners are asking tools such as ChatGPT, Claude and Google's AI-powered search features questions such as which companies make bespoke fitted furniture in Devon or the South West.
We're pleased to see Just Wood Furniture appearing in these kinds of results too.
AI systems can draw on information available across the web, including company websites, reviews, articles and other sources when forming their answers. They don't replace doing your own research, and appearing in an AI answer isn't an official seal of approval.

But it is another sign that the body of information surrounding Just Wood Furniture is becoming strong enough for these systems to recognise who we are, what we specialise in and where we work.

A Reputation Built Over Time
None of this happened overnight.
Our Google reviews have accumulated one customer at a time. Our website contains years of completed projects, photographs, advice and information about the furniture we make. Our Instagram account documents an ever-growing collection of real installations.
And behind all of that is a relatively small, family-run Devon business.
Chris owns the company, Tom works with customers on the design side and our own team makes and installs the furniture from our workshop near Exeter.
We're not trying to operate like a national furniture chain.
We'd rather stay close to the people we're working for.
That means taking the time to answer questions, changing a design when something isn't quite right, turning up when we've said we will and caring about the final few millimetres just as much as the overall design.
Our online visibility matters to us, but not simply because we want to be number one on Google.
What matters is what sits behind it.
Real customers. Real reviews. Real projects. And a reputation that has been built one piece of furniture at a time.
