'His & Hers' Dressing Rooms with a Bespoke Twist

It was a pleasure to work again with the team at Vision Installs for a second collaboration, this time as part of a major home renovation project. The focus was to create two bespoke dressing rooms — one for him, one for her — within the master bedroom suite of a beautifully updated property.

The brief was to maximise storage in two compact spaces while delivering something both practical and beautifully made. And, as always, we were up for the challenge.

Client's Vision — and a Love of Shoes!

The client had one specific request: a standout shoe storage solution. Her vision sparked the creation of a bespoke rotating shoe rack — a one-of-a-kind feature designed to turn a tight space into something truly functional and fabulous. The clever design includes integrated LED lighting that runs along the sides and beneath the hat shelf, adding a soft, luxurious glow.

The cabinetry in her dressing room made use of a generous recessed area, allowing us to install extra-deep drawer units. The drawers extend a full 70cm front to back — ideal for bulkier items. Above them, we designed slimline shelves tucked behind the hanging rail, perfect for folded clothes like t-shirts. It’s this kind of detailing that transforms a good design into a great one.

Bespoke from Every Angle

Every element of the project was fully tailored. From the Oak inlay finger pull drawer fronts — spray painted to match Farrow & Ball’s Elephants Breath — to the 90-degree corner rails that optimise hanging space, each feature was custom-made to suit the layout and lifestyle of the client.

Vision Installs provided initial layout plans, and our designer Tom quickly identified the challenge: the rooms were too tight to build and move full units in and out. So, we reimagined the construction process from the ground up, designing everything to be assembled in-situ. Tom worked closely with Vision Installs through multiple iterations, using 3D design tools to fine-tune every detail. The rotating shoe rack was even designed to be removable in case something ever falls behind it, nothing left to chance.

Craftsmanship You Can Trust

The internals are finished in Roble Natural Mesura from the FINSA 12Twenty range, offering a warm, contemporary look. Our components are built to last: soft-close mechanisms by Blum with a lifetime warranty included, chrome hanging rails by Häfele, and subtle yet stylish LED lighting from the Häfele Loox collection.

As with every Just Wood Furniture project, our own team completed the installation, overseen by our founder Chris to ensure it met our high standards. Our invisible Lamello fixings ensure a clean, polished interior with no unsightly caps or filler holes in sight.

A Collaborative Effort with a Standout Result

It was great to be part of this creative and technical challenge with the Vision Installs team. This project is a great example of what’s possible when craftsmanship, creative flexibility, and client vision come together. Our bespoke approach gives clients complete design control, without being limited by standard sizes or modular systems.
